What is ISO?

What is fill light?
A sequential series of rough sketches or stills showing what will happen in the movie. It captures what the camera lens will film so that the filmmakers can outline the various shots needed
What is a storyboard?
The person primarily responsible for managing the set and ensuring the shoot runs smoothly?
What is an assistant director (AD)?
The program we use to edit our film projects. (3 words)
What is Adobe Premiere Pro?
The opening of a camera lens that controls the amount of light allowed to pass through and actually contact the film
What is Aperture (F-Stop)?
The light used to seperate the subject from the background, creating a sillouette or outline around the subject.
What is back light?
This person ensures that the selected locations match the script's needs and logistics by going to the locations prior to filming.
What is a location scout?
The choreography of actor movements and camera positions
What is blocking?
What area of the editing program do you build your video and audio tracks on?
What is the Timeline?
Abbreviated as FPS
What is Frames Per Second (Frame Rate)?
The main light used to light the subject, usually the brightest light.
What is key light?
This person who handles logistics, financing, and scheduling.
What is a producer?
Filming several shots from different angles and distances to make sure you have enough footage to edit with.
What is coverage?
A professional who assembles video footage into a coherent story or narrative for movies, TV shows, documentaries, and other video projects.
What is an editor?
Length of time in which a single frame of film is exposed to light, affecting motion blur.
What is Shutter Speed?
The range your sound levels should be recorded at (in db).
What is "Between -6db and -12db"?
A document of every shot planned for a scene.
What is a shotlist?
A shot used to show the character's perspective.
An early cut of your film where it tells the story but hasn't been completely polished.
What is a rough cut?
Your shutter should always be this to create the normal amount of motion blur.
What is "double your frame rate"?
the natural sound of a space when no one is speaking or making intentional sounds. You should always record two minutes of it on set to help with audio continuity.
What is room tone?
A document given to crew members over the course of the film’s production. It lets every department member know when they are to arrive on set. It also lists which actors are necessary for which scenes.
What is a call sheet?
A tilted shot that creates an uneasy, distorted feeling for the viewer.
What is a dutch angle?
The cut of your film that is done and ready to be screened for an audience.
