What is RAIN?
This is created by the manufacturer, and we follow this for all endoscope cleaning.
What is the Instructions for Use (IFU)?
This is the method used to recap hypodermic needles.
What is the single-handed scoop technique?
I spray this generously on instruments (except scope, occuloplasty instruments) to avoid bioburden build-up.
What is PreKlenz?
I am covered up before Laser procedures to prevent the Laser from damaging another's eyesight outside of the room.
What are the room windows?
This is where the Formalin spill kit is located.
What is the pathology or specimen room?
If the endoscope is not cleaned at the bedside properly, the scope needs to soak in the enzymatic cleaner for this amount of time before it can be reprocessed.
What is one hour or until no debris comes out of the tip when flushing the scope?
I am the person who identifies the sharps zone during timeout.
Who is the Surgical Technician, scrub, CST?
This is the policy/procedure for transporting soiled instruments.
