Eucharist
a choice to do what is right. we make this choice because it is what we believe God wants.
Moral Choice
the gift of God that repairs our broken relationship with Him through the words of the priest.
forgiveness
the act of prayerfully thinking about what we have done or failed to do
examination of conscience
The gift of God given to us without our earning it. It fills us with God's life and makes us his friends.
Grace
One of the seven ways through which God's life enters our lives through the work of The Holy Spirit. A sign of the grace we receive through Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of The Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony.
Sacrament
a serious decision to turn away from God. it cuts us off from God's love and grace
mortal sin
Gods forgiveness of our sins that we receive through the church in the sacrament of reconciliation.
absolution
The result of the choice that Adam and Eve made to disobey God. We need to receive sanctifying grace in Baptisim to free us from this.
Original Sin
A prayer of sorrow for our sins and of our desire to do better.
Act of Contrition
a choice we make that weakens our relationship with God or with others. is less serious
venial sin
the prayer or good deed the priest asks us to do in the sacrament of reconciliation. it shows that we are sorry and want to turn away from sin and live as God wants us to live.
Penance
Being restored to God's grace by confessing our sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Jesus came to ______ us with God.
