My classmate is making a mess at their desk. Instead of saying to the teacher, "she is being so messy" or "why are you making such a mess?" How can I mind my own business?

Own it by explaining what happened to my parents and my sister and tell them I am sorry. Ask if I can do extra chores to help pay for a replacement ballerina.
