Pigs roll in mud because

They can not sweat, so the mud helps cool them... But fun fact.. we don't use mud holes for show pigs. Skin and hair care are a must, so we use misters and fans. Just like we put heat lamps on them when they are cold

It's fair week, who should be caring for your pig and how often each day?

YOU should be caring for your own pig. Parents aren't allowed to help with caring, feeding, watering, or cleaning. Ask members or leaders of our group to help if you need it.

Fair week is fun week but it is a lot of hard work: Pigs go in on Tuesday. So from Tuesday until Sunday when fair closes, YOU are responsible to be there to take care of your animal. That means pens clean by 8 am, barn duties, checking on animals when not on barn duty to clean, cool, and interact.
