That is the case for Alexa, who is undergoing cancer treatment while trying to adjust to high school. She maintains her outgoing personality and enthusiasm for life despite her health issues, thanks in part to loyal best friend remaining by her side through it all. Whether they're at school, home or the hospital, the girls are always by each other's side through thick and thin. Also part of Alexa's life is determined and protective mother Lori.

The business is boosted by their young neighbor, Dice, who knows all of the building's tenants and can get people pretty much anything, including baby-sitting clients, and he has Sam and Cat fully covered. Cat's young-at-heart grandmother, Nona, is also around whenever the girls need her, even though her new life at Elderly Acres keeps her busy. Naturally, the baby-sitting venture results in wacky adventures for the girls.

While Emma and Ravi become counselors in training, learning how to be responsible role models for younger campers, Zuri becomes friends with a couple of the kids at the camp, studious Tiffany and compulsive liar Jorge. Together, the Ross children settle into their new lives as they adapt to their summer home away from home.

Who knew a science project could be valuable? When Babe and Kenzie created the mobile game "Sky Whale" for a seventh-grade project, they were just hoping for a passing grade. What they got, however, was one of the most popular games of the year, which led them to create a successful business that makes millions of dollars. Not everyone is happy with the girls, though; popular rapper Double G threatens to sue them when he finds out they have used one of his songs without his permission. To avoid any legal issues Babe and Kenzie decide to partner with the music star and hire his son, Triple G, as a gaming consultant. "Game Shakers" marks a return to Nickelodeon for Kel Mitchell (Double G), who first rose to fame in the '90s on the network's series "All That" and "Kenan & Kel."
