When are you allowed to talk in class?
If Mrs. Brickus calls on you, if you are working in groups, or if you have free time. You should not be talking when Mrs. Brickus or others are talking.
How do we act in the hallway?
We walk in a single file line and are not talking or whispering.
Where do we line up to leave the classroom?
In the front of the room.
How do we earn marbles?
By following classroom rules and taking responsibility for our learning.
How do you check out with Mrs. Brickus at the end of the day?
Tell her when you see your name on the wall and give her a high five, fist bump, or hug to tell her you're leaving.
When can you leave your seat during the day?
If Mrs. Brickus says you can. Or after asking Mrs. Brickus to use the bathroom, get a drink, or blow your nose.
How do we act in the prayer room or the Basilica?
Quiet and respectful to Jesus and others who are trying to pray.
What do we do first thing in the morning?
Wait outside of the room for Mrs. Brickus to greet you. Then look on the board and start your silent work.
How do we earn ready row points?
By making sure you and your row have all of your materials, are quiet, and ready to learn.
Can we talk, use the bathroom, or get a drink during the Rosary?
No. During the Rosary we are praying. You will have to do those things before or after.
Yours! Mrs. Brickus can help but your learning is your responsibility/job.
Can I lie in this classroom or school?
Absolutely not. If you lie, you will get in more trouble. Always tell the truth so we can help you learn.
What do you do before leaving the classroom?
Sign out on the notebook and take the pass.
How do we earn a movie?
By filling up the marble jar!
If you are at a special, lunch, recess, or something else, can you come in to the classroom whenever you want?
No. You have to get permission from another teacher and then knock of the door before coming in to the classroom.
When can I sharpen my pencils?
At the beginning of the day and after lunch.
When can I touch, push, or play fight with someone?
Never. Keep your hands to yourself unless someone is letting you high five, fist bump, or hug them.
Where do we wait after lunch?
When do you get to visit Mrs. Brickus' treasure chest?
On your birthday and if your row wins ready rows!
If I need more school supplies, what should I do?
Ask Mrs. Brickus and she will let you visit the classroom supply
What happens if I don't follow the rules?
You get a formal warning, you have to talk with Mrs. Brickus, and if it's serious, you may get a referral or be sent to Ms. Strasser. Mrs. Brickus will also send a message to your parents.
Can I swear in the class or tell someone off for being mean to me.
No, even if someone is being unkind, we should not be unkind back. No swearing or unkind words in class.
When you hear the bell, what does that mean?
Voices off, stop doing what you're doing, listen to Mrs. Brickus.
When do we get to sit on the couch?
Only when Mrs. Brickus picks our name stick.
