The ball starts to loose kinetic energy as it is being transferred to sound, thermal, and potential energy.

Explain why using an electric car is not always good for the environment.

Even though electric cars run on electricity instead of gas (which is a fossil fuel), it depends on where the electricity is coming from. If it is coming from a solar panel that produces electricity from the sun, it is good for the environment. If the electricity is coming from a power plant that uses coal to produce electricity, then it is not good for the environment.
