He skipped his accounting class three times to work at a part-time job, he didn't attend class because he was angry at his girlfriend. He missed Monday classes because he was hungover from parties. He was late because it was hard to find parking. Jerome put off doing homework until last minute due to being so busy, didn't hand in assignments because he found them confusing, and last he stopped going to the study group.

In the book they stated an example of how astronomers made a prediction to how the planets would orbit around the sun. However, Planet Uranus did not follow the predictions that they had made. Something was getting planet Uranus "off Course" but astronomers didn't know exactly why or what was preventing it. After better technology,astronomers soon discovered that what was causing Uranus to be off course was the a gravitational pull of an invisible planet. This is how Neptune was discovered.
