If I am eating a steak in the living room, and then I move into the dining room, do I make a new bracha? Why?
No, because it's somewhat normal to move from room to room while you're eating, and therefore it's not a הה"ד.

I'm drinking a cup of coffee and I go from my HOUSE to my SUCCAH which is attached to the house. I don't drink the coffee for 37 seconds, and then I want a sip. Do I have to make a new bracha?
No, because House --> Succah attached to the house is the equivalent of Room A --> Room B

What must you have done in order to bentch somewhere other than the original place of eating?
You must have eaten a כזית of פת in the place that you want to bentch now.

I'm in 7-11, getting a Slurpee, planning on getting into my car and drinking it while I drive home. I'm overwhelmed with thirst and I make a bracha and take a sip at the register...do I have to make a new bracha when I get out of the store or when I get into the car? Why?
No, because you have the status if הולכי דרכים, which means you were eating/drinking on the go...you never had a fixed place, so we don't consider you to have changed your place.
300
Why is it, when you change your place, do you have to make a new ברכה ראשונה?
Because when you change your place, you had a הסך הדעת from your meal.

If I'm Succah hopping, and I eat a כזית of bread in Succah A, and I'm planning on bentching in Succah D, what, if anything, do I have to eat in Succah D, and what, if anything, can I eat in Succas B & C without having to make a new bracha?
To bentch in Succah D, you must eat a כזית פת there...In Succas B & C, you can eat any food that you would normally eat during a meal without making a new bracha (i.e. soup, salad, meat).
300
Why does this work and for which scenario does it work?
This works, because you are considered part of the group, so even if you leave your place of eating, as long as part of the group has remained, the "group" never left its original place of eating....It works to allow you to return to your original place of eating without needing to make a new bracha, even if you've left the house and even if you were eating a בורא נפשות food.

I'm in my Succah which is NOT attached to my house, and I'm eating chicken and potatoes. I decide I want a Coke instead of Pepsi, so I run into the house and leave my food in the succah. Do I make a new bracha on the chicken and potatoes when I come back into the succah. Why?
Yes. because it's the equivalent of House A --> House B.

I'm drinking Gatorade and eating BBQ flavored potato chips in a field which is surrounded by a fence. The Gatorade inspires me to run to the other side of the field, so far away, I can't see my original place of eating. Do I have to make a new bracha on the gatorade and BBQ flavored potato chips?
No, because a field surrounded by a fence is the equivalent of Room A --> Room B
400
Why don't the rules of שינוי מקום apply to פת?
Because you have to make an after bracha in the place where you ate, so in order to make an afterbracha, you either have to return to your original place of eating OR eat a כזית in a new place and then bentch there...wither way, you're still connected to the meal.

You're in House A, eating ב"נ snacks with friends...you decide you want to go to House B, so you leave. Can you eat more ב"נ snacks in House B without making a new bracha, as long as you do הניח מקצת חברים properly in House A? Why or why not?
No...המ"ח only works to RETURN to House A, but not to eat in a new place.

I'm sitting in a rocking chair on my covered porch, drinking a glass of lemonade. The phone rings, so I run into the house. When I come back out to the covered porch, do I make new bracha on the lemonade? Why?
No...a House ---> Covered porch has the same status as Room A ---> Room B

I'm meditating in the forest which is not surrounded by a fence, eating peas & carrots and drinking tea. I decide to look around and I find that I've walked really far away from my original place of eating. Under what circumstances WOULDN'T I have to make a new bracha on my food, and under what cirumstances WOULD I have to make a new bracha on my food.
-I WOULDN'T have to make a new bracha if I could still see my original place of eating. - I WOULD have to make a new bracha if I couldn't see my original place of eating (either because it's too far away, or because there is a tree blocking my vision).

You eat a כזית פת in Rabbi Schwartz's succah, then you go to Rabbi Lapin's Succah and you want to eat chicken soup, which they happily serve you. Do you have to make a new ברכה ראשונה? Where do you bentch?
No, you do not have to make a new ב"ר. You would bentch in Rabbi Schwartz's succah unless you ate a כזית פת in Rabbi Lapin's succah...then you could bentch in either one.

You eat a בורא נפשות food in Rabbi Schwartz's succah, then you want to go to Rabbi Lapin's Succah and eat some chicken soup, which they happily serve you. What should you do, if anything, BEFORE LEAVING Rabbi Schwartz's succah, and what should you do, if anything, BEFORE EATING in Rabbi Lapin's succah?
1- Before leaving R' Schwartz, you should make an afterbracha 2- Before eating at R' Lapin's, you should make a new ברכה ראשונה, even if you forgot to make an afterbracha at R' Schwartz's.

I'm sitting in a rocking chair on my uncovered porch, drinking a glass of lemonade. The phone rings, so I run into the house. When I come back out to the uncovered porch, do I make new bracha on the lemonade? Why?
No, because we say a House --> UNcovered porch has the same status as Room A --> Room B (although it's best not to do that)

I'm in 7-11, getting a Slurpee, planning on drinking it for a minute in the store while I browse in the candy section. After a minute, I leave the store and start walking home. If I want to continue drinking the Slurpee outside, when wouldn't I have to make a new bracha, and when would I have to make a new bracha? Why?
- You WOULDN'T have to if you were continuously drinking from the time you left the store until the present moment. -You WOULD have to if, after you left the store, you stopped drinking for more than תוך כדי דיבור (about 2 seconds) Since you fixed your drinking in the store, even though it was only for a minute, when you left, it's considered you changed your place of eating (שינוי מקום)
