People modify environments. Environments influence people's behavior, culture, preferences, etc.

Differentiate Man-Land Tradition and Earth Science Tradition.

Man-Land: the study the relationship between human beings and the land they live on.

Earth Science: study of planet Earth (Earth-sun interaction, waters of the earth, atmosphere, effects of solar system, etc.)

4

Differentiate Environmental Determinism and Environmental Possibilism.

Environmental Determinism suggests that the environment dictates how a culture adapts and the way humans think/behave. On the other hand, Environmental Possibilism suggests that environment sets social conditions but does not limit possibilities for humans to grow (free will), and where social conditions drive evolution of human culture.

[Application of Geography] Choose a random topic/news/theme, explain it using theories/traditions/concepts in Geography.

Explain.

5

Differentiate Spatial/Location Tradition and Area Studies Tradition.

Spatial/Locational: in-depth analysis of the particulars of a place (usually using techniques, computerized mapping, etc.)

Area Studies: focus on specific area in order to define, describe, and differentiate it from other areas

5

Differentiate Cultural Ecology and Cultural Determinism.

Cultural Ecology explains how people use culture to adapt to their environment and how people use culture to adapt to their environment. On the other hand, Cultural Determinism suggest that the behavior, attitude, values, and actions of individuals come from their culture. Thus, the culture you are raised in defines "you."
