Ignore the other person, or kindly remind them there is no talking in the bathroom.

Where do you walk in the hallway at all times?

On the blue line

The teacher is teaching during structured time. Is this a good time for me to be cleaning my desk and looking for the crayon I lost last week?

No. Your attention should be on the speaker.

When we go outside for outdoor ed, what are some rules that apply to all of us as students?

Making sure we are staying with the group, listening when attention is needed at all times, keeping our voices low enough to hear nature and our teacher, hands to ourselves, etc.

What is one way I can show self-control during the school day?

Keep my hands to myself even when I don't feel like it, help a friend who dropped their things, etc.

Other kids are throwing soap at the mirror in the bathroom. What should I do?

Inform them that their actions are not respectful and let a teacher know.

No. Self-control.

200

If I need a tissue or to sharpen my pencil, how do I ask? Or do I need to ask?

It is okay to get up to do either of these things quietly without asking. If you are sharpening your pencil, please wait until the teacher is done talking regardless of how long that takes.

My friends and I are playing sports outside and we are starting to get frustrated with each other about the rules. What should I do?

Step away and give myself distance from the game to cool off even though I don't want to miss playing. This is a good idea no matter the situation if our emotions are high.

300

What is an example of perseverance at school or at home?

Pushing through chores, finishing a Lexia or Dreambox lesson even though I had to start over, etc.

ANSWERS WILL VARY

One of each. If the clip board is gone, you must wait.

Level 0, staying in line, etc.

I see trash on the floor of the classroom around my desk and my table group. What do I do?

I PICK IT UP! Just because the trash is not mine, does not mean it should be ignored. This classroom is our home.

300

I see something really cool on a nature walk. Should I scream and let everyone know I saw it? What would be the best way to share my news?

Quietly point and hold up a zero. Your friends will see your arms up and will be able to stop and see it so it doesn't get scared away.

400

Why do we think it is important to encourage others?

I see a mess in the bathroom. The mess could include toilet paper or trash. What should I do?

Let a teacher know there is a mess and they will let the janitors know.

400

If someone is trying to "be first" or "be last" in line, what should my response be?

We are all going to the same exact place. If someone is trying to be first or last, allow them to do so and the teacher will handle the situation.

400

I see a friend who is visibly upset around me. What do I do?

You may comfort the friend if they allow it! Ask them how you can support them. If they need space, provide space. If they need to chat, find the right time to do so such as lunch or recess. This doesn't just apply to the classroom. But most of our time is spent in the classroom.

400

The whistle blew at recess to go inside for lunch. Where do I go if I am hot lunch and where should I stand if I am home lunch?

If I am getting hot lunch, I will be standing outside the gym door waiting to go in and hop in the lunch line. If I am home lunch, I will go back to the dismissal door and wait to go upstairs and get my lunch from my locker being led by a teacher.

Find your teacher and watch where they are walking. We will be standing in the same spot in front of the school on the hill by the entrance to the parking lot.
