To use words that allows the reader to see what is happening in the sentence rather than telling them what is happening. This means using sensory words  and lots of adjectives to describe what is happening.

Give a plot summary of the book "The One and Only Ivan"

Ivan, a silverback gorilla, lives in a stationary circus in a mall. He is friends with other animals in the Circus, especially Stella, the elephant, and Bob, the dog. When Stella dies, Ivan promises to save Ruby, a young elephant, from a life of captivity. Ivan uses his art to convey a message to the public which allows the animals to be taken to a zoo where they can live with other animals of their kind.

A main character is the character who the story is mostly about, follows the story in the beginning, middle and end, and we does most of the talking. A supporting character is not the main character but is still important in the story.

What is a "mind movie" from "Fish in a Tree?" Why are they significant to the story. 

Mind movies are how the main character, Ally, copes with tough situations. She plays these movies/stories in her mind to help distract her from reality. These are significant because they help bring her peace from the multitude of struggles that Ally faces daily. They allow her to deal with some of her issues and seek idillic circumstances.
