Look around you! What is everyone else doing?
Where should we face when listening to someone?
Look at the person who is talking!
What are the 2 big W's we worry about when asking a question?
1. WHO
2. WHEN
Where do we look in the morning to see what supplies we need on our desk?
The board
What is the second step once you identified the materials you need?
GATHER THEM!
What do you do if you can't tell what to do from the people around you?
Review the board or where the instructions are and reread them!
Sit quietly
Who and when do you ask? You want to know when your field trip is during class silent reading time.
Who: classmate or teacher
When: AFTER silent reading time, maybe during a transition

Homework folder
Is there another step before packing them all away?
Yes! Double check, do you have everything you need?
What do you do if you re-read the instructions and have looked around for help but still don't know what to do?
Skip it for now and come back later!

Who and when do you ask? You are playing at recess and you fall and hurt yourself.
Who: any adult
When: right away!
What do we do before sharing our ideas with the class?
Raise your hand
After rechecking all materials, pack them into one area
What if I skippped around the activity and now only have blank ones left?
Try the blank ones, give it your best shot even if unsure!
How do we communicate to the other person we are listening?
Nodding our head or saying yes can show the other person we are paying attention
Who and when do you ask? You want to know what is for dinner but your parent is on a phone call

When: after they get off the phone call

Follow the one way path and voices off
What might you need to pack if you are going to math class?
homework folder, calculator, pencil, notebook, ruler, etc.
What is the last thing we could do when we are unsure what to do?
Ask Ms. Bidler or another teacher for help!
