Explain the process for placing a decimal in a division problem.
If there is not a decimal in the divisor, then you move the decimal point straight up from the dividend to the quotient. If there is a decimal in the divisor, you have to move it to the right to create a whole number. Then, you have to move the decimal in the dividend the same number of spaces before moving it straight up into the quotient.
