What should you do if you are struggling to complete a task?
Put your hand up and ask the teacher for help.

What are the four respects?
Respect for Learning, Respect for Self, Respect for Others and Respect for Environment.
You can not go to the bathroom when Miss Duncan is teaching. If you need to go to the bathroom you MUST ask. Only 1 student can go at a time.
How long do you have to read every night?
10-15 minutes and you need to fill in your reading log and return it to school EVERY DAY.
What are your choices if you finish classwork early?
Read silently unless Miss Duncan has given you another option.
How should you treat classroom materials that are not yours?
Return borrowed materials in the same way you found them.
If there is a problem during eating or play break, who should you tell.
The teacher on duty. Do not wait until the end of break to tell Miss Duncan.
What are some things you should do when you arrive in the classroom each day?
Get your desk ready, check the board, complete the morning activity.
How should you handle yourself if someone knocks on the door or the teacher gets a phone call?
What will you receive if you consistently have neat handwriting?
A pen licence.
What will Miss Duncan do if she needs you to get quiet?
Clap, count down or use the doorbell.
How should you walk through the school during learning time?
Silently and in 2 straight lines.
What do you do when you come in after play breaks?
Read silently by yourself.
What are the expectations during reading groups?
Working quietly on the learning task your group has been given.
What will happen if you do not complete a task to the best of your ability?
You will be asked to re-do your work.
What will happen if you use your iPad for anything other than work during learning time?
Your iPad will be taken away from you for the day. If it continues to happen you may lose your iPad completely.
How should you respond if you hear the fire alarm?
Remain quiet and calm and listen to Miss Duncan for instructions.
What happens if you are 10 minutes late to class after play break?
You will miss out on 10 minutes of your next play break.
Where can you sit?
Miss Duncan will let you know where you can sit for each lesson. Most of the time you will be at your desk, or on the carpet. Sometimes you can choose a spot around the classroom.
What will happen if you choose not to complete your learning?
You will have to complete it during play breaks or for homework.
When can you enter the glasshouse/zen zone?
You should always ask Miss Duncan before you use the glasshouse or the zen zone. If you are stressed out, you can use the Zen zone without asking - however you should not be in there for longer than 5 minutes.

Stand behind your desk and wait for Miss Duncan to dismiss you.
What jobs do the helping hands have to do?
Handing out work, checking the classroom is tidy in all areas, cleaning the whiteboard, putting the daily schedule on the board at the end of the day.
