There are several reasons for the coyotes’ ability to survive in both wild and urban areas. Because coyotes are smart, they are able to adapt to new places as long as food and shelter are available. Like many wild animals, they subsist on whatever food they can find. Coyotes are omnivores; their varied diet includes small mammals as well as fruits, vegetables, and insects.
