How did Crater Lake in Oregon develop?

A volcano collapsed and formed the lake. 

Crater Lake is the seventh deepest lake in the world. After Mount Mazama (an ancient volcano) collapsed, the lake formed. It is 1932 feet deep (533 meters) (in its deepest part).
