You move it straight up.
How do you set up an addition or subtraction problem with decimal numbers?
You stack the numbers and line up the decimal points.
What do you do if you are adding or subtracting decimal numbers and they are not the same length?
Line up the decimal points and annex zeros in the empty places to the right of the decimal points.
How do you place a decimal point in the answer of a multiplication problem with decimal numbers?
You count how many decimal places there are in your multiplication problem and then count that many decimal places to the left in your answer.
How do you set up a division problem with a decimal divisor?
You have to multiply the divisor by groups of 10 to make it a whole number. Then you need to do the same with the dividend. (move the decimal points the same number of places) Then move the point straight up into the quotient.
