The turning point or the most intense, exciting part of a story.

Giving human qualities or characteristics to non-human things, like "the wind whispered."
What is personification?
The series of events that make up a story.
What is the plot?
Words written in darker print to show importance.
What are bold words?
A word that means the same as another word.
What is a synonym?
The part of the plot that occurs after the climax, where the tension begins to ease.
What is the falling action?
An extreme exaggeration used for emphasis, such as "I’m so hungry I could eat a horse."
What is a hyperbole?
The central message or lesson the author wants the reader to learn.
What is the theme?
A list of topics and page numbers found at the beginning of a book.
What is a table of contents?
The feeling or emotion associated with a word (positive, negative, or neutral).
What is connotation?
The final part of the story where the conflict is resolved and loose ends are tied up.
