What is matter
Matter is a substance made up of various types of particles that occupies physical space and has inertia.
Protons, neutrons, electrons
What is an Atom?
smallest unit into which matter can be divided without the release of electrically charged particle
What is distillation?
A mixture is a material composed of two or more simpler substances in chemistry. Such materials can be compounds or chemical elements. A mixture of liquids, solids, or gases can be produced. When sugar is put in water, for example, it forms a mixture, then it dissolves to create a solution.
When the temperature of a gas at constant pressure is decreased, its volume decreases.
When the temperature of a gas at constant pressure is increased, its volume increases.
What is Charles's Law?
What is thermal energy?
Heat energy, also called thermal energy, is the energy an object has because of the movement of its molecules, and heat can be transferred from one object to another object.
What is substance?
“A substance is a matter which has a specific composition and specific properties. ” Every pure element or pure compound is a substance. A substance can not be separated by any physical method. The properties/composition of a pure substance is fixed. Examples of substances are sugar as well as iron.
What is an element?
An element is a pure substance that cannot be broken down by any physical or chemical means into simpler substances. An element is made up of the same kind of atoms. Elements are classified into metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. Elements are represented by their symbols.
What is mass?
Mass is the amount of matter an object contains. The more matter something has, the more it will weigh. For example, an elephant has more matter in it than a mouse so, its mass is heavier.
What is density?
Density refers to how much mass there is in a particular space. Imagine a drawer full of socks. It has a certain density. If you take a sock out, the density of the drawer changes. This is because the mass of the socks has changed, but the volume of the drawer has stayed the same
What is viscosity?
You can think of viscosity as how thick a liquid is. A liquid with high viscosity - that is thick, like peanut butter - will flow slowly. A liquid with low viscosity, or that's thin, like water, will flow quickly (in other words, it will flow freely).
physical property is defined as a characteristic of matter that may be observed and measured without changing the chemical identity of a sample. The measurement of a physical property may change the arrangement of matter in a sample, but not the structure of its molecules.
What is a molecule?
What is a molecule in science for kids?
What is volume?
Volume refers to the amount of space the object takes up. In other words, volume is a measure of the size of an object, just like height and width are ways to describe size.
What is convert?
Convection is a way in which heat travels. It occurs when heat is transferred by the movement of liquids or gases. The other methods of heat transfer are conduction and radiation. Natural convection occurs when fluids are heated. When the fluid molecules are heated, the fluid becomes larger and lighter.
What is sublimation?
Sublimation is when a solid becomes a gas without turning into a liquid first.
What is a chemical property?
Chemical properties describe the characteristic ability of a substance to react to form new substances; they include its flammability and susceptibility to corrosion. All samples of a pure substance have the same chemical and physical properties.
What is a compound?
When two or more elements chemically combine in a fixed ratio by mass, the obtained product is known as a compound. Compounds can be defined as substances consisting of 2 or more different types of elements in a fixed ratio of their atoms.
What is weight?
Weight is the measure of the force of gravity on an object. The mass of an object will never change, but the weight of an item can change based on its location. For example, you may weigh 100 pounds on Earth, but in outer space you would be weightless.
What are these examples of? states of matter, tearing, dissolving, cutting painting, or bending
Physical Properties/changes
A balloon rises to an area where the air pressure pushing against the balloon is less than the air pressure near the ground. The pressure inside the balloon is stronger than the pressure outside of the balloon causing the balloon to pop. The temperature in this case remained the same.
What is Boyle's Law?
Label the following as elements, compounds, or mixtures
A. Carbon B. Italian Dressing C. Carbon monoxide
D. water E. copper F. guacamole
A. Element B. Mixtures C. Compound
D. Compound E. Element F. Mixture
What is a mixture?

What are these examples of? A balloon is filled at room temperature and then refrigerated for 10 minutes. Upon removal, it decreased in size.
What is Charles's Law?
What is Boyles Law?
When the pressure of gas at constant temperature is increased, the volume of gas decreases. When the pressure of a gas at constant temperature is decreased the volume of the gas increases.
