WHEN King Uther dies, leaving the nobility battling for the
throne, Merlin advises the archbishop of Canterbury to call the nobles together in London with the promise that the true successor to the throne will be miraculously revealed. THEN, ON CHRISTMAS DAY, the archbishop leads the nobles to the churchyard, where a large stone has appeared. In it is embedded a sword, passing through an anvil; its inscription proclaims that he who removes the sword is the rightful king of Britain….FINALLY, Arthur, the foster brother to Sir Kay, pulls the sword from the stone.
