There are some things that ARE in our control (inside the circle) and some things that are NOT in our control (outside the circle).
Explain the difference between the "soda pop" reactive person & the "water bottle" proactive person.
Soda pop people are ready to explode at any minute. They are caught off guard when things go wrong. They do not have strategies to solve problems.
Water bottle people get upset by the same things, but they have strategies to calm down and solve problems so they don't explode.
Summarize the story of Low Effort Lisa & High Effort Henry.
Lisa gave a Level 1 on the Effort Meter. She did not want to write, spent more time off-task, rushed, sloppy work. Henry gave a Level 5 effort. He wrote ALOT more. Stayed on task. Pushed through the struggle. Re-checked his work and corrected mistakes.

A water bottle person might take a deep breath, think clearly, realize it was an accident and let it go.
