The famous General who was severely wounded during the Battle of Chancellorsville was General “Stonewall” Jackson. General Jackson and some officers were conducting a scouting mission behind enemy lines in the dark after the battle. When they were returning, Confederate guards thought that they were Union Cavalry scouts, so they started shooting at their own officers. In the friendly fire, General Jackson was shot in the left shoulder and fell off his horse. After General Jackson had his arm amputated, he died a few days later of pneumonia.
