What is the replacement policy for LTS?
Your absence must be approved by FT staff (Kim, Renée, or Melissa).
Find a replacement by emailing, then calling or texting ALL staff (it is not your SUP's responsibility to find your replacement, sending an email and waiting for a reply does not count).
Email your SUP once you find your replacement and send them your detailed lesson plan and class info for LTS shifts.
Should an emergency arise and you must miss your shift on short notice, please call the pool office (WBSC- ext. 30317) as soon as possible to speak with the on-shift SUP so they can assist you in finding a replacement. Please ensure you speak with a SUP directly and do not leave a voicemail.
Can a parent with a 4-, 5- and 8-year-old swim, on what conditions they can swim?

How do you treat a nosebleed?
Tilt head forward, provide them with gauze, pinch just above the nostrils of nose if not injured, call 911 if it lasts more than 20 mins or lots of if in distressed
Why aren't the lifeguard supposed to press the hot tub button?
Clients should be pressing the button to allow themselves to only be in the hot tub for the recommended time of 15 minutes.
What do you do if a kid in your class seems to be in the wrong level (safety hazard vs not)?
If they are a safety concern, notify your sup immediately and speak with the parents to let them know. There may be options in other classes for them
If it is not a safety concern, let the parents know, and teach the child to their skill level
When should you start looking for a recert for your qual? What if it expires?
3 months prior to its expiration ideally in case of cancellations
If it expires, you cannot work and the City is not responsible for reimbursing you

Can people wear their guard hoodies while guarding, under what conditions can you?
You must pass your skills check off in your hoodie in order to guard with your hoodie. It is preferred that indoors, you do not wear a hoodie.

They are not looking carefully before they dive.
What should you be saying to education parents or adults when you do a drowning rescue?
Encourage them to seek medical attention incase they inhaled too much water.
What are the rules of using the diving board based on what bracelet they are wearing?
If they have a green bracelet, they are good to go.
If they have just an orange bracelet, they are not permitted.
If they have a green and orange bracelet, they must be accompanied by an adult in the water, out of the way.
