In 1986, after the EDSA revolutions and end of Marcos’ reign of terror, Marcos held a snap elections to try and prove he was still the choice of the Philippine people. It was during this elctions where he was eventually beaten by his former adversary’s wife - Cory Aquino. This is memorialized in the Namfrel board in LSGH which tallied the votes, where it still stands today. She beat Marcos by a considerable margin by amassing this many votes to secure her victory and mark the start of the post martial law era.
