What happens when you increase the number of threads on a screw?
As the number increases, the force needed to perform work with the screw decreases but the number of times you have to turn the screw increases.

A wedge is like 2 inclined planes back to back. A wedge splits objects. An inclined plain helps you raise or lower an object.
