What is My Career Academic Plan?
This trait says that you like to do creative activities like art, drama, crafts, dance, music, or creative writing. Generally avoids highly ordered or repetitive activities.
What is artistic?
A program that allows high school students to take college courses and earn credit for both high school and college
What is concurrent enrollment (CCE)?
After high school this pathway has you join as an enlisted service member or attend a service academy or ROTC program.
What is the Military?
An undergraduate degree that takes about two years to complete. It's a higher qualification than a high school diploma, but lower than a bachelor's degree.
What is an associate's degree?
This is where you go to access your MyCAP lessons.
What is Naviance?
This trait says that you like to work with numbers, records, or machines in a set, orderly way. Generally avoids ambiguous, unstructured activities.

What is Advance Placement (AP)?
This pathway after high school prepares students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, helps with career education and credentialing, or helps them receive an associate’s degree.
What is a Community College?
An undergraduate degree that is earned (in 4 years on average) after completing a course of study at a college or university.
What is a bachelor's degree?
These are the grades that MyCAP goes through.
What is 6th grade through 12 grade?
This trait says that you like to work with animals, tools, or machines. Generally avoids social activities like teaching, healing, and informing others.
What is Realistic?
A type of educational pathway designed to equip students with the specific skills and knowledge needed for a particular career field
What is CTE?
This pathway allows students to complete a 4-year degree, which is typically called a Bachelor’s degree. Bachelor’s degrees require a student to take general education courses (such as math, English, science, social studies) and specialized courses related to a chosen major.
What is a 4-Year College/University?
This is earned after completing career oriented course work that can lead to certification or a credential.
What is a Career Certificate?
Teachers, parents, counselors, school admin, trusted adults, siblings and friends are good resources and people to ask for support
Who can support you with your MyCAP?
This trait says that you like to study and solve math or science problems. Generally avoids leading, selling, or persuading people.
What is Investigative?
A structured learning experience that combines school and workplace learning.
What is Work-Based Learning?
This pathway is a regulated, long-term, paid positions that train participants in a skilled trade. It often ends in a guaranteed job at the end of the program.
What is an Apprenticeship?
Often earned through technical schools, this credential may be shorter in duration than a degree, but it usually requires more general education and/or coursework than a certificate.

This trait says that you like to lead and persuade people, and to sell things and ideas. Generally avoids activities that require careful observation and scientific, analytical thinking.
