Dan wanted to know if the amount of salicylic acid in face wash effected the rate of clearing skin up. Dan used 4 different concentrations of this in his face wash forumula: 0 mL, 5mL, 10mL, and 15mL per 100 mL of wash. He had 100 people divided into 4 groups. Each participant washed their face twice a day with this wash, used the same lotion after, and washed their face the same way. The results showed that at the end of 30 days, 10 mL of the SA people saw a 90% clearning in their skin.

IV: Salicylic acid

DV: Rate of skin clearing after 30 days

Control: 0 mL of SA

Constants: type of face wash, amount of face wash SA was added to, same # of people in each group, how many times they washed their face, how they washed their face, the same lotion used, and the same use time of 30 days.

What are the 3 postulates of the cell theory?

All living organisms are composed of cells.

Cells are the basic unit of structure and function.

Cells come from other living cells.

Name 4 organ systems and what they do

Answers will vary

Compare and contrast a plant and animal cell

Answers vary:

Plant: chloroplast, chlorophyll, cell wall, rectangular shape, have a large vacuole

Both: Almost all organelles, both eukaryotic, both have DNA, ect

Animal: Centrioles, rounder in shape, Can have flagella or cilia, have small vacuoles
