Tecumseh.  He tried to unite eastern tribes under a movement called the Pan-Indian Unity in early 1800's.  The alliance allowed the tribes to band together to fight against colonization until it was dissipated by American shortly after Tecumseh was defeated in the Battle of Thames in 1813.

What does the word Chillicothe mean?

The name derives from a Shawnee word meaning "principal town."  Chillicothe served as capital of the Northwest Territory.  It was the state capital twice.
