What is cause and effect?
The main character or one of the major characters in a story or drama.
What is the protagonist?
Comparing two or more unalike things using like or as.
What is a simile?

What is large or huge?
The author's opinion about a topic.
What is author's viewpoint/perspective?
A character that changes throughout and as a result of the plot.
What is a dynamic character?
Vivid and descriptive language that appeals to the five senses.
What is imagery?
The suffix meaning "full of."
What is "-ful"?
The meaning of the word "favorable" as used in the sentence: The first review on the Harry Potter movie was favorable.
What is positive?
This text feature provides extra information or facts and is in a separate section of a page or in a box.
What is a sidebar/textbox?
The part in the story where we get background information about the setting and the characters.
What is the exposition?
Words that represent sounds.
What is onomatopoeia?
The prefix that means "against."
What is "anti"?
The meaning of the word "murky" as used in the sentence: After the heavy rains, the stream became so murky that you couldn't see the bottom.
What is cloudy?
The emotional connection a word has.
What is connotation?
The thing that starts the conflict.
What is the inciting incident?
When the author gives you hints or clues about what happens next.
