9 + 3x + 2y - 7
How many terms does the expression have?
4
y - 4 = 10
Solve. Show your work.
y = 14
Write an equivalent fraction for the following fraction:
2/3 Show your work.
Any fraction that results in multiplying the numerator and denominator by the same number.
Examples: 4/6, 6/9, 8/12, 10/15
What are the four transformations?
Translation, Reflection, Rotation, Dilation
Write an equation in slope-intercept form using the following information:
slope = -5, y-intercept = 1
y = -5x + 1
5 + x - 2y
Identify the coefficient.
2
A coefficient is a number that is attached to a variable.
3x + 7 + 5x
Simplify (combine like terms)
8x + 7
4/6 - 1/4 =

8x - 3y -2
Identify the constant.
2
Constants are always by themselves (not attached to a variable).
2x + 3 = 43
Solve
Show your work.
x = 20
3/5 x 5/7 =
Simplify (reduce to lowest term)
3/7
What transformation does the following rule describe:
(x,y) changes to (-x,y)
Reflection (over the y-axis)
When adding or subtracting fractions, why does the denominator need to be the same number?
So that the pieces are the same size or equal units (like 1/4 and 3/4).
You can't add fractions that have different sized units (like 1/4 and 3/6).
2x - 5 + 4y

If a pre-image of a triangle was dilated by a scale factor of 2, would it make the image larger or smaller?
Larger (a dilation scale greater than 1 will make the image larger, a dilation scale less than 1 will make it smaller)
WHY does Keep, Change, Flip work when dividing 1/2 and 3/4?
Whatever you multiply or divide on one part of the fraction, you must do the same to the other part of the fraction. So, once you set up the division problem, if you divide the numerator and denominator by 4/3 it will make the new denominator 1, leaving you with 1/2 times 4/3. Then just multiply those and you get 4/6 or 2/3.
