CD: Benjamin- He finally utilizes his ability to read and tells the animals that Boxer is being sent to his death. CM: It took Boxer's death to change Benjamin's apathetic view on life. He spoke up, but it was too late. This does prove he cared deeply for Boxer as a brother.
“Fill your glasses to the brim. Gentlemen, here is my toast: To the prosperity of The Manor Farm!”
CD: Napoleon- He is meeting with Mr. Pilkington at the end of the novel inside the farmhouse. CM: The change from Animal Farm back to Manor farm confirms the pigs have transformed into the human masters they once despised.
“In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.”
This is Anne's closing remark that Mr. Frank reads in her diary. Even with all the chaos that Anne lived through, she still saw good in the world.
“That’s my wife. I told her I had to go over some papers in my office… to call me there when she got out of church.”
Mr. Kraler calms the families when they hear the phone unexpectedly ring. Mr. Kraler is keeping the hiding of the two families a secret from his wife because he wants to have the least amount of people involved.

CD: Moses- He returned to the farm at the end of the novel and is preaching about an afterlife full of joy to the animals. CM: The pigs allow him to stay because his vision of heaven helps to pacify the animals and prevents further rebellions.
“There are no walls, there are no bolts, no locks that anyone can put on your mind.”
Otto Frank is talking to Anne about the value of education. She might be confined indoors, but her mind provides endless possibilities with learning and reading. He's trying to provide her with a positive outlook during a terrible situation.

CD: Boxer adopts this saying as his personal motto. CM: Boxer is feeding into Napoleon's propaganda by placing himself responsible for the building of the windmill.

Peter is teasing Anne after she stole his shoes. It proves that Anne's personality was a bit much for him at first.

CD: Sheep- Squealer secretly took the sheep to a pasture and taught them to recite their new song towards the end of the novel. CM: The shift from two legs bad to two legs good confirms Old Major's ideology is shattered. Animal Farm ceases to exist.
“There is so little that we parents can do to help our children. We can only try to set a good example… point the way. The rest you must do yourself. You must build your own character.”
Otto Frank is teaching Anne about the role of parents. In short, he claims that being a parent is a helpless position. You can be an excellent role model. You can teach wrong from right. You can be the perfect example, but the child has the final say on what kind of individual they will become.

CD: Squealer- This is his concluding statement for all announcements given to the animals. CM: This statement is intended to strike fear into the animals, resulting in an effective brand of propaganda.

Edith Frank is completely unhinged when she caught Mr. Van Daan stealing food. She has no tolerance for his juvenile behavior, she's livid he's not putting the children before himself, and she's annoyed with Otto Frank for allowing the Van Daan family to stay with them. She will protect the kids at all cost.
