What is globalization?
When a corporation sources their labor from outside of their company. This is done to lower their business costs.
What is outsourcing?
This country tends to have more influence in the global community, resulting in the world becoming more similar to this country.
What is the USA?

When a corporation takes advantage of workers for their benefit. This goes along with greed.
What is exploitation?
A business that is set up in more than one country.
What is a transnational corporation?
The heritage, values, beliefs, traditions, and way of life of a group of people.
What is culture?
This government agency sets guidelines for what is considered Canadian content, and set rules that help promote Canadian content and identity on TV and radio.
What is the CRTC?

Changes in transportation methods have helped this type of globalization grow.
What is economic globalization?
A type of globalization where money, labor, production of goods, etc. are shared between countries
What is economic globalization?
Characteristics that make a person who they are.
What is individual identity?
The blending of two or more elements to create new, unique items. The goal is to increase appeal and accessibility, so that more people can engage with it.
What is hybridization?
Changes in technology have helped this type of globalization grow.
What is social globalization?
A type of globalization where lifestyles and cultures are shared around the world.
What is social globalization?
Characteristics that a specific group has in common. This is the feeling of belonging to a group.
What is collective identity?
This word describes the way that something becomes a part of pop culture.
What is universalization?
This broadcasting company is partially funded by the Canadian government. The corporation does report on global events, but they promote more Canadian stories and Canadian artists.
What is CBC?

A type of globalization where governments from different countries work together through agreements or organizations.
What is political globalization?
When a country welcomes and encourages multiculturalism, and is more diverse.
What is a pluralistic society?
When big media companies "buy out" smaller media companies. A benefit is that there are resources for projects, but it could also result in certain perspectives or groups not being represented.
An example is Disney buying Pixar, ESPN, 20th Century, and National Geographic.
What is media convergence?
When a country has 2 recognized official languages.
