  •  Betty Jean Sanders would become a young widower in 1965 after the public assassination of her husband

  • Shabazz was left pregnant with twin daughters, to care for her four daughters alone

  • For three weeks after the death of Malcolm, Betty would not sleep

  • She then took pilgrimage to Mecca where she would find the strength to return to her six children

  • After returning to the US, Betty threw herself in the care and education of her children
