What is a Motivating Operation? Name an example that you might encounter at Monarch. 

A Motivating Operation affects how likely a behavior is to occur by influencing the value of a reinforcer. Answers will vary, but examples include: 

A learner just got off of 10 minutes of his personal Switch. This is an abolishing operation for time on his school computer (satiation). 

A learner has not eaten yet today. This may increase his motivation to get his lunchbox from his locker.

An intraverbal is back and forth communication between two or more communication partners. 

Examples include conversation goals (XaFi and MaSt)
