A Motivating Operation affects how likely a behavior is to occur by influencing the value of a reinforcer. Answers will vary, but examples include:
A learner just got off of 10 minutes of his personal Switch. This is an abolishing operation for time on his school computer (satiation).
A learner has not eaten yet today. This may increase his motivation to get his lunchbox from his locker.
