When do we use error correction?

When client does not make an appropriate/ correct response (makes error, does not respond, etc)

100

What does reinforcement schedule refer to?

How often we are reinforcing correct responses

100

Define extinction?

Decreasing a behavior by withholding reinforcement for it. Cutting off the pattern of reinforcement so that the behavior gets put on extinction and decreases.

100

BT Mary marks down how many times her client says a curse word in sessions. What data collection method is this?

Frequency

200

What is the first step of error correction?

Provide Corrective feedback

200

Name one reinforcement schedule

Fixed interval, Fixed ratio, Variable interval, Variable ratio

200

Extinction should be function based. What are the 4 fxns of behavior?

Sensory, Escape, Attention, Tangible

200

Penny uses a timer to collect data on how long her client takes to eat his meals. What data collection method is this?

Duration

300

What are some examples of "corrective feedback?"

"Try again," "Not quite," "no" etc.
300

What is the difference between variable and fixed schedules?

Fixed schedules: R+ occurs after EVERY x amount of time or every x correct responses. Variable schedules vary, around a median amount of time/correct responses
300

What is the difference between escape and avoidance?

Escape is the cessation of something that is currently happening. Avoidance is avoiding something from happening at all (Ex: opening an umbrella outside in the rain is escape, opening it before you step into the rain is avoidance)

300

Anna is looking at how many times her client elopes, over how long of a session occurred. What kind of data collection method is this?

Rate (Frequency/Time)

400

What is the second step in error correction?

Represent SD and prompt to evoke correct response. Don't repeat SD without jumping in with a prompt!

400

What is the difference between ratio and interval schedules?

Ratio: R+ based on number of correct responses. Interval: R+ based on time

400

Erik runs out of the classroom during a non-preferred activity (test). What is the hypothesized function of this behavior?

Escape

400

Peter is measuring how much time elapses between each response of taking a bite of food. What data collection method is this?

Inter-response time

500

Give one example of a prompt

Expectant pause, Gestural, Model, Visual, Indirect verbal, Direct verbal, Partial physical, Full physical

500

Do we start with continuous or intermittent reinforcement when first teaching skills?

Continuous

500

Jim engages in mouthing non-edibles at school during class, outside while playing with friends, and when no one else is around. What is the hypothesized function of this behavior?

Sensory

500

Lillian is documenting whether or not her client remained in their seat during the entire class period, for each class in a school day. What data collection method is this?

Whole interval data
