Being able to regulate one's emotions even when you might be upset or bored. Using your social filter. Feeling it BIG on the inside (FBI) and expressing it SMALL on the outside (ESP)

Keeps the conversation going. Are usually open ended questions that you can't ask with a yes or no - so you can find out more information about the person.

It helps you remember things they like to do so you might be able to do them together or ask them about in a conversation. It makes the other person think good thoughts about you/want to hang out with you because you remember what they are interested in.

Takes longer to do the project because people are going off topic. Not everyone is sharing the work load equally.

What is a social filter?
We can have any thoughts we want, and a social filter helps us say what is expected in a given situation. Example - we may be angry about a test, but we use our social filter when talking with the teacher and use an appropriate voice tone and words.

Words - using on topic words To keep the conversation going. Not making the situation awkward by going off topic

What is flexible thinking?
Being able to understand that other's have different ideas and opinions different from our own. Being able to do something different from what we originally planned. (Example - John wanted to go to the movies, but both of his friends wanted to go bowling. John decided to go bowling too.)

Doing something that is unexpected based on the context of the situation. Example: Talking to a friend when the teacher is trying to lecture/explain something to the class. Sharpening a pencil when the teacher is speaking to the entire class.
