Who is your academic adviser?
Withdrawing from a class, although sometimes the best option, can also come with academic and financial consequences. Before you withdraw from a course, talk to your adviser about other options, such as signing up for free tutoring or changing your grading option to Pass/Fail.

A student might elect to do this when they are struggling in a class, so there is not a negative impact on their GPA.

Courses that you take Pass/Fail do not factor into your GPA. You may only Pass/Fail one course per semester, and it cannot be in your major (or a college writing course). Consider taking advantage of tutoring before you decide to change your grading option.
