Top bun: Topic sentence
Burger/lettuce/cheese: 3 detailed sentences
Bottom bun: Wrap up sentence
What should you do before you begin speaking?
Stop, breathe in and out, and think about what you will say.
Don't whisper! Speak clearly.
Can you prepare for the listening test?
Yes, you can practice by listening carefully when we have listening activities in class.
When reading, is there anything in the text that can help you?
YES!!! Many text features can help...

Captions
Fact boxes
Bar graphs

Labels
Headings/subheadings
Essay?!?! What on earth is an essay?
An essay is at least 3-5 paragraphs.
If you run out of things to say, what could help you think of more?
Use the pictures! Speak about what you see.

There are two parts of ACCESS that you "TOTALLY CONTROL". What two parts do you totally control?
Speaking & Writing
You are totally in control of these two sections. The MORE you say and write, the better you will do. Just keep speaking......just keep writing.
If they ask for an essay....don't write a paragraph and think it's good enough.

What is a Word Bank and why is it helpful???
A word bank gives you sample words to use. Word banks will help give you more ideas to write about! The more you write, the better chance you have at getting a great score!
