What are the requirements for a member to open a CU Grow checking account?

Trick question. Members in the CU Grow program must be under 13 years of age and do not qualify for a checking account. Only members that are 13-18 years of age in the CU Succeed program qualify for a checking account.

Electronic funds transfer, open a checking account to utilize eBranch for external transfers/bill pay, and wire transfers.

What fees do we charge for overdraft privilege? 

We charge a fee of 15% of the transaction. Must be a minimum of $8 or a maximum of $50. The member can withdraw a maximum of $450 not including the $50 fee.

$20 fee for domestic wires, and $50 fee for international wires. (50 extra bonus points: $10 for a returned wire, and $20 for a service message).

There are two ways. 1) you can reach out to the HR team, Sheri, Lauren, or Lourdes about your name change or 2) you can visit the HR page on ACCU inside and find the name change form under “HR Documents & Forms”. You can fill this out and email it to the HR team.

Although ACCU does not directly offer auto or home insurance, we offer those products through another party "TruStage". TruStage offers auto, homeowners, and life insurance. Contact information and details can be found in the TruStage brochure or on ACCU's website.

A non-member wants to cash in their coin deposit. Can we do this? If so, do we charge a fee?

Yes, we can accept non-member coin deposits and we charge a 10% fee if the coin exceeds $100.

What basic information do we collect from someone to apply for an auto loan?

We ask for their phone number and email address, if they rent or own their home, what their monthly payment is, their address, where they work and their occupation, how much they make, and if they have any other additional forms of income.

A member has $95,000 that they want to deposit into their member share so they can continue putting funds into it for their future grandkids college funds. This is a great cross-selling opportunity. What could you offer to this member?

Since the member wants to regularly deposit funds into the account we could offer them a Money Market savings account so the member can start earning 0.30% in dividends. We could also mention a CD as they are higher rates but that may not work for the member as they want to continuously deposit funds.

A member calls our branch wanting to make an auto loan payment over the phone. What are the steps we can take to help this member make that payment?

We can transfer the call to a solutions center team lead, OR the more helpful way can be to: 

1) Verify members information 

2) Ask how they are making the payment.

3) If they're using a debit card make sure to get the name on the card, the number, expiration date, and CCV code. Then message the eBranch solution center team leads with card information. 

4) If they're using their account from another FI must obtain name on account, account number, routing number, and whether it is a savings or checking.

5) Notify member there is a $10 convenience fee and read off information that the eBranch team lead will message you to read off to member to confirm the transaction.

A member who has a member share and a loan with us wants to open up a checking account. What documents do you need to complete a checking account opening for this member?

As the member is already established with ACCU the only documentation you will need filled out is a Membership Modification form checking the box indicating you are adding a checking/debit card. Once file maintenance is complete the form must be added to Nautilus.

Why would a member who just started their business and opened Business account with ACCU want a Value Checking Account over the Classic Checking account?

As they are just starting out their business and their profits are probably smaller a Value Checking may be more beneficial as they can try to avoid the $10 monthly maintenance fee if they have a monthly balance of $1500. The Classic Checking charges a $15 fee no matter what.

What is the new procedure (as of 07/2022) if a member wants to make a principal only payment?

Credit Cards: Members can make their regular payment and then every payment after that through the end of the month goes directly to principal. 

All other loans: They may pay extra on their regular payment (or make an additional payment on the same XP business day) and that will go to principal, provided there are no fees pending.

Otherwise, if they make a second payment during the month, it will charge them interest from the date of their last payment and the remainder of the payment will go to principal.
