When did Abbie start liking Dakota?
When did Abbie not like me haha? I think the story changes for her everytime. I started working at Doxology in September and I think by October she had a big crush on me. She says that it was my coffee company that got her interested. I think it started after a staff bar b q when rachel asked her about me.
When did Dakota start liking Abbie?
I started liking Abbie after going to a coffee shop together as friends. She was studying for school and I was working on things for work. She was so kind, asked me intentional questions, laughed at my jokes, and had the cutest smile. Afterwards, we walked around downtown and had a great time. From there I think I knew I had feelings for her.
What’s a place that’s important to yalls relationship?
I would say the trinity trails is an important place in our relationship. It is where we had our second date and we spent many afternoon walks there almost everyday in our early dating times. It also is the place we held hands for the first time, we had our first kiss, and one of our first quiet times together. We had many spontaneous dates there and even had a 7hr picnic where we played board games, ate snacks, painted and walked. Our relationship lived and breathed on that trail.

Dirty dishes. He despises when people put dishes in the sink and don’t take the time to rinse it off.

Aside from saying “yes!” What did Abbie say to you Dakota after you proposed to her?
Well she actually said “yeah” after I said will you marry me? She was honestly just in shock and smiled at me. I think she was in disbelief the entire time. Afterwards it was just genuine disbelief and so many questions on how I got everything in order.
If Abbie could spend a day doing anything, what would she do?
Abbie's ideal day would definitely involve something with being outside, coffee, and a sunrise or sunset. She would wake up early and spend time with God with a warm cup of coffee (specifically Taste the Nations). The day would definitely involve cooking together and spending quality time with each other. In the afternoon she would want to go on a walk or a hike. Then she would want to find a spot where we could watch the sunset together and possibly accompanied with a bottle of wine. If she is feeling up to it she would enjoy ending the day watching a movie with me.
If Dakota could spend a day doing anything, what would he do?
My ideal day would sleeping in then drinking my coffee and spending time with God. If I am spending time with Abbie I would actually enjoy the same things. I think if anything I would want to spend more time at home then being out and about. My ideal day is resting at home, but do enjoy the outings when the weather is nice. If I could I would play a round of golf with my friends.
What is Abbie's coffee order?
Abbie gets whatever she is feeling that day. She’ll order an Iced coffee with a splash of soy milk no classic or nitro or black coffee

How did you plan the proposal? Did Abbie know that it was going to happen in the days/weeks leading up to it?
It was very methodical. The goal was to surprise her and throw her off the scent by any means necessary. Which included maybe sprinkling in the photographer was in arkansas for the week and showing her the instragram. Casually opening up find my friends to see that my friends where in florida the day before. One weekend when Abbie went out of town I planned for the photographer to go with me around fort worth to find a spot for the engagement. I would turn off my location many times and sometimes would be asked why. I had my spot picked out she knew something was up but this was 2 months before the engagement. Really what delayed the engagement was the ring took forever to get finished, but she was losing all hope that i was going to propose in the summer before the semester started. On the date I could tell she was hoping the engagement was finally here, but I gave her details of the night that alluded that there was no time for the engagement to happen and if it did where? How? when ? not possible? I can remember when the dinner ended she went to the restroom which I figured she was checking locations on find my iphone. Thankfully everyone was where they were suppose to be on a normal day totally not the engagement night. My plan to this point was to take her to the “snowcone place” but actually drive to our favorite trail (the spot!) ... somehow someway I got her to think that this was her plan and then I said actually do you want to go walk on our trail first then go get dessert. If you know abbie she will never say no to a walk. When planning the spot the question was how do you get her to the location that would be fun and memorable and thoughtful so i lined the trail with pictures from our favorite memories throughout our relationship as a trip down memory lane before asking her to marry me. It was amazing and I am so glad it was a suprise and abbie loved it.
How long does it take Abbie to be a functional human being in the morning?
Abbie likes a slow morning. It could take her time to become functional and she definitely doesn’t want to wake up and be rushed out the door. She prefers a transition period of “being” in the morning
How long does it take Dakota to be a functional human being in the morning?
It definitely depends on the morning, but I believe for the most part I am up and ready for the day. I prefer setting my alarm with just enough time to get out of bed, shower, and get to where I need to be.

When did you both first realize that you were each other’s person?
Abbie will probably give you all more a specific answer. I’m not sure i think it was after several months of dating and getting to know each other that we just really enjoyed spending time with each other. We understood each other. We knew when something was wrong or right. Overtime she was all I could think about, the only person I wanted to share my thoughts and emotions with. I believe what really won me over was our first overnight trip at one of my buddies ranches. It was the longest time we had been together and it was so fun getting to teach her how to shoot guns, ride four wheelers, and shoot at animals. It was just a really fun time and I can remebr thinking this girl is my person and I love making memories with her.
Would Abbie rather not listen to music or not watch movies for a year?
Tough one - I am going to say give up movies, but since she has started dating me she has listened to less music. She may say music now idk.

What was going through Dakota's mind when he was proposing?
I think what was going through my mind is wow she has no idea this is about to happen. I am so excited for this. This is one step closer to starting a life together. I can remeber the anticipation of what she would think and how happy she was going to be. And just the releif that this invisible wedge between us was going to finally be gone. My whole life i thought this moment would be scary and make me nervous but when you know the other person is the one and know that they truly love you and you want to spend their life with you it really just made this moment so special to express that with an actual commitment to each other.
What was the moment when they knew that they wanted to marry each other?
That is hard to tell because from the beginning of our relationship marriage was always on the table. It was always our aim and it was our intention to get there if this was the person God had for me and if we saw each other getting married. I think early on we had many similiar interest like walking, getting coffee, and watching movies. But I beleive it was the way we loved and cared for each other. How she could bring out the best in me and I could bring out the best in her in many situations. Looking back the first time I said I love you was 4-5 months into dating, but always felt that love from abbie.I think our love really started to grow towards wanting to marry was when we began to talk about preengagement/premarital content. It was clear that this was the person I loved and wanted to spend the rest of my life serving God with.
