What are legal consequences?
Needing more of the drug to get the same desired effects as before
What is tolerance?
When use gets worse overtime
What is progressive?
Includes new healthy interests developing, facing facts with courage, and a new circle of stable friends.
What is the recovery phase?
Job loss, dropping out of school, loss of friends or strained relationships with family members
What are social consequences?
Using despite legal, social, or any other issues that are created from our use.
What is continued use?
When we cannot return to normal drinking or drug use
What is incurable?
Includes failed efforts to control, beginning to lose interest in other activities, beginning to blackout, or avoiding family and friends.
What is the crucial phase?
Withdrawal symptoms, contracting diseases, heart issues, or cirrhosis.
What are health related consequences?
An increase in the amount of time getting, using, or recovering from the drug.
What is spending an increase amount of time?
When we cannot predict if we will be able to stop
What is loss of control?
Includes occasional relief using and cravings of the drug/alcohol.
What is the pre addiction phase?
Developed depression, anxiety, psychosis and mood swings.
What are mental consequences?
Not going to social or recreational actives that we used to participate in.
What is withdrawal from activities?
When problems related to drinking or using drugs begin to emerge
What are consequences?
Includes others struggling with addiction, stopping use, learning that addiction is a disease, and new hope begins to emerge.
What is the rehabilitation phase?
Feelings of shame, loss of purpose, persistent unhappiness, or guilt.
What are spiritual consequences?
Physical symptoms that may occur when we stop using the drug for a certain period of time.
What is withdrawal?
