If you want to set up a budget plan, what is the first step?
1. Identify your net income (amount you make after taxes) Then you want to 2. track your spending, 3. set goals and 4. make a plan to meet those goals. ie. 1. NET INCOME: I make $500 per month. 2. SPENDING: I spend $300 per month on rent/bills and $50 per month on Taco Bell. Subtract these from the $500 and I have $150 monthly left over. 3. GOAL: I want to have $700 in savings within 6 months. 4. PLAN: Cut back Taco Bell spending to $25 per month. Put $125 in savings each month. This leaves $50 for misc. spending each month (movies, clothes, books) and $25 for Taco Bell. In 6 months I will have $750, $50 over my original goal so now I can treat myself to more Taco Bell.
