Self-advocacy is “the ability to speak up on your behalf effectively” (Moe, 2021). Self-advocacy means you can state any concerns or questions in a concise and thoughtful manner.

Identifying values helps us to direct our conversations with direction and purpose. Knowing what is a necessity vs a want is important in deciding what needs to take priority in your life.

The claim: statements about what is true, what is good, or what should be done or believed
The reason: statements that support a claim
The support: substantiates the reasons offered, usually come in the form of evidence
The warrant: inferences or assumptions that connect the support to the claim

What happened or what was the event? How did it make you feel? How did you handle it? How could you handle it differently? What might be the outcome? What did you learn about yourself? What things could you do to stop and think rather than behave as you did the last time?
