When should you use hearing protection?
Hearing protection should be worn when the noise level exceeds 85 decibels (for example a portable circular saw operates at 105 decibels).
Before you think of using a machine or tool what must be in place?
All safety guards must be in their proper positions while machines are being operated.
What metals are common conductors?
Copper and aluminum
Where are our fire extinguishers?
By the outside exit, and between the tool room and chemical closet.
What do we not do with the air hose?
Anything but blow off your OWN clothes or project. Beware of your surroundings.
What type of footwear is required in the shop?
Complete coverage of the foot and non-flammable footwear (no nylon) are required in the laboratory settings.

How do we measure electricity?
o Amperage- measures the rate of flow of energy in a conductor
o Voltage- measure of the electrical pressure
o Watts- measures the amount of work that can be done by amps and volts
o Watts=volts*amps
PVC is short for?
PVC (polyvinyl chloride)- white and rigid and is used for cold water pipes, vent and drain systems
