Civilizations started in areas close to rivers because humans figured out how to channel the water into the fields to grow crops -> to support a large population.

Why do some Arab countries not make much money (have "weak economic payback") from animal wealth (farm animals)?
Because they use primitive (which means basic) ways of raising and selling them. They don't use factories or raise huge amounts of animals.
