Describe the differences between Federalists and Anti- Federalists
Federalists were in favor of the constitution. They were usually wealthy landowners int he Northern states. They believed in elitism because they felt their class was the only one fit to govern. Federalists wanted a strong central government and wanted to remove all the common people from power because they could not govern themselves. Anti- Federalists did not support the constitution. They were usually small farmers or laborers who believed in the goodness of the common man. They also believed the elite were corrupt. Anti -Federalists wanted strong state governments in order to secure their rights.
