What role did Blacks and Women play in the Revolution?
Many blacks fought in the war and some were even granted freedom. However, some slaves supported the British because they were promised liberation. They did not pick sides so much as they chose freedom. Women sometimes took their husbands' place in the field if they were killed or injured, one woman even went in disguised as a man. They were also used as spies and worked in army camps to take care of soldiers. However, they were still seen as children in the eyes of the law.

The young girls who cam to work at mills originally received good pay, food, housing, and education. However, as the industry grew the conditions worsened and the wages dropped.

Harrison died and his VP Tyler took his place. He had once supported Jackson but was now with the Whigs. However, since he truly was a democrat he "betrayed" the Whigs and didn't cooperate with their plans for presidency. He was abandoned and was in office without a political party.
