This happened after the French and Indian war, so the British were poor. They wanted to prevent the colonists from getting in wars, that caused them to be more in debt.

Benedict Arnold is known as one of the most biggest traitors in US history. He fell in love with a loyalist that convinced him to give information about the colonies plans to a British officer. He then was captured, but escaped. He lived the rest of his life in London.
